Level 5:This course suits people who have recently completed Level 4, or those who already have a solid foundation in German, communicating confidently about themselves, their environment, their past, and their future plans. In Level 5, you will gain confidence in communicating about topics that go beyond your immediate environment, for example, by giving a voluntarypresentation on a topic of your choice in front of the class.This is not compulsory.
In Level 5, we will work at the intersection of the A2 and the B1 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages*).
Term duration 10 x weekly 2-hour classes, Tuesday evenings, 6:15pm to 8:15pm

Revision ofadjectivaldeclension – e.g. Er trägt eine grüne Hose und einen gelben Schal.
Consolidation of Perfekt and Imperfekt past tenses
Consolidation of complex sentences and sentence connectors
Consolidation of subjunctive Konjunktiv II for expressing wishes and requests, and for making suggestions – e.g. Du könntestmich morgen mal besuchen.
Consolidation ofDativ and Akkusativ nouncases – e.g. Ich habe meinem Bruder einen Hammer gekauft. Das Buch ist auf dem Tisch, aber ich lege es jetzt neben das Bett.
Relative clauses – e.g. Ein Gericht, das ich gerne esse, ist Spätzle.
