ConferencesConferencesRoyal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Inorganic Biochemistry Discussion Group (IBDG) Jubilee MeetingDescriptionFounded in 1975, the Inorganic Biochemistry Discussion Group (IBDG) serves the UK community of inorganic biochemists/bioinorganic chemists, encouraging activities relating to the biological function of the inorganic elements. Last year was the group’s 50th anniversary. In celebration of this, a symposium will be held at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. UEA has a long tradition in metalloprotein research and a long association with IBDG, through UEA's, Centre for Molecular and Structural Biochemistry (CMSB), which was formed in the early 90's. The meeting, which will be co-hosted by CMSB, will take place on 3rd/4th September 2026. It will provide a forum for showcasing both contemporary research and future directions in our field. The meeting will be supported by ELEMENTAL, a BBSRC-funded Engineering Biology Hub focused on bio-based strategies for recovering technology-important metals. The scientific programme will consist of invited and abstract-selected oral presentations. Attendees who would like to present either a talk or a poster should click on the ‘Read More’ button next to their Attendee Category below and then on the ‘More info’ tab. We look forward to welcoming you in Norwich. Jubilee Meeting Organising Team: Profs Jon Worrall (Chair), Anna Peacock, Paul Walton, Nick Le Brun https://ibdgorguk.wordpress.com/meetings/
UK Purines Club: Advances in Purinergic Receptor ResearchDescriptionThis annual meeting of the UK Purines Club will bring together all researchers working on P1 or P2 receptors to discuss their research findings and to network with others. We will focus on early-career researcher talks and encourage all PhD and Masters students to submit abstracts for short oral presentations or posters. We will also have invited talks from four senior researchers. This event will be a great opportunity for ECRs to present their work to an interested, expert audience, gain valuable feedback and to enhance their academic profile. There will be prizes awarded for the best short talk and the best poster.
