Description

15th September 2026 - 13:30 - 16:30 (including 15 min break)
Online via Microsoft Teams.

Evolve Training provides online training sessions for people professionals - human resource directors and partners, wellbeing leads and organisational development specialists - who want to keep at the cutting edge of insight and action on workplace wellbeing issues.

The training is hosted and facilitated by members of the Evolve Workplace Wellbeing team from Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia.

See more details below...

Detailed Description

What the session covers:

  • It introduces key economic ideas used to assess the cost-effectiveness of workplace wellbeing, explaining these concepts in an accessible way for HR, People Professionals, managers, and non-economists.
  • It explores how wellbeing investments can translate into organisational benefits, such as reduced absenteeism and presenteeism, improved retention, and stronger engagement, and how these links are understood in the evidence base.
  • It provides an overview of how costs and benefits are typically identified and evaluated, including what is realistic and proportionate for organisations of different sizes and sectors.
  • It highlights practical examples of how organisations have approached making the business case for wellbeing, alongside common challenges and misconceptions around measuring impact and return on investment.

What you will do:

  • Learn – key concepts, frameworks, and ways of thinking about costs, benefits, and value that support informed wellbeing investment decisions
  • Discuss – with peers and experts in the Evolve team, sharing experiences, questions, and reflections on what works (and what doesn’t) in different organisational contexts
  • Generate ideas – on what meaningful and proportionate evaluation could look like in your own organisation, given your data, resources, and priorities
  • Plan – identify practical next steps for applying insights from the session to wellbeing planning, review, or business case development in your organisation.

All our sessions focus on empowering people professionals to act in their own organisations, by building knowledge and capacity. We help people understand when they can use common principles and contrast that with when and how to tailor their responses to their specific context. Our approach is not a checklist, standard or quick fix - but for those of you who have already tried those and found that they do not 'move the dial' on wellbeing, we offer the next step in the journey.

Note: this training course can be bought standalone via this link. If you were instead looking for the way to buy the Evolve Together community of practice subscription (which includes one free Evolve Training session as well as all the other benefits of the subscription) please contact workplace.wellbeing@uea.ac.uk to check your eligibility to receive the special offer (£450+VAT for first year) sign-up link.
