Drama Studio Auditorium![]() The UEA Drama Studio is a flexible theatre space right in the heart of campus. The Studio Main Space is our premier performance space: seating up to 200 and stocked with the latest technical theatre equipment. As well as being the home of the UEA Drama degree programmes, the Studio is the venue for theatre, comedy, musicals and live literature at UEA. Both the Studio Auditorium and the Rehearsal Room venues are ground access, and seating arrangements for wheelchairs or other mobility requirements can be easily made – please inform the Studio by contacting LDC.DramaStudio@uea.ac.uk ahead of your visit. If you require support of a companion to access our venue, please let us know at the same address when booking a ticket and a complimentary ticket will be arranged. An analogue induction loop is fitted within the Studio Auditorium (but not the Rehearsal Room). If you have a digital hearing aid, please check with your audiologist that your aid is loop-enabled for use at the theatre. Registered assistance dogs are welcome and can be taken into the Studio Auditorium or the Rehearsal Room. Please inform the Studio by emailing LDC.DramaStudio@uea.ac.uk when booking your ticket. For the performance, a Steward will direct you to an appropriate seat and inform you of anything in the show that could affect you dog’s comfort. We regret we cannot offer that guide dogs be left in the care of front-of-house staff. Please be aware, this does not extend to emotional support animals, which cannot enter the auditoria. Spring & Other ThingsDescriptionI don't want your useless labels or your mind-numbing medication. I want to be treated like an actual human being, not an age or a diagnosis. I want a hug. It’s October 2016. The first six months of the year successively broke records for the warmest months ever seen, the UK has voted to leave the EU, politics in America is terrifying, and Chloe quite literally wants to die. Her schoolbag confiscated, and held in a waiting room watching the hours tick by, Chloe wonders if she can escape the beige walls with a view of the car park in favour of freedom and quiet amongst the trees and birds she longs for. How are young people expected to be happy in a world hell-bent on destruction? Maybe a breakdown is the only reasonable response to a world on fire. Can a cocktail of medication, de-escalation lighting and oreos reel Chloe back from the edge, or is it time to focus on the real root of the problem? In this semi-autobiographical show from the team behind ‘A Rat, A Rat’ (LPT award winner 2021) filled to the brim with comedy, queerness and climate anxiety, Chloe takes us through her journey from rock bottom in an adolescent psychiatric unit to falling head over heels in love with life again. Following sell-out performances at Norwich Arts Centre, and an Offie nominated run at London's Old Red Lion Theatre, ‘Spring & Other Things’ is bringing all of its stubborn joy, ready to banish the cold and the dark and remind us of all the tiny bright things that make a life worth living. ----------------------------------------------------- Important informationTickets are available to purchase on the door, subject to availability.
