Level 6 Classes: Level 6 Classes: This course will suit people who have recently completed Level 5 or have a solid/recent foundation in Italian meaning they are able to confidently communicate about themselves, their environment, past, future plans and some topics beyond their own environment. In this class, you will be given tools to justify your opinion in simple ways, such as justifying actions or plans.
In Level 6, we work at the B1 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)*.
Term duration 10 x weekly classes, Tuesday evenings, 6:15pm to 8:15pm
There will be no class on Tue 28 October.
Communicative themes may cover:
Discussing different ways of consuming, issues and solutions
Talking and writing about work, wellbeing and inequalities
Understanding and being able to express oneself about specific current affairs
Giving one’s opinion on civic duties and responsibilities.
Reacting to different art forms and cultural items (music, paintings, films etc.)
Key grammatical points covered include:
Consolidating use of the subjunctive .E.g. Non penso che questa sia una buona idea.
The subjunctive - hopes, doubt. E.g. Spero l’esame vada bene.
The past conditional. E.g.Avrei voluto tanto vivere negli anni 60.
Possessive pronouns. E.g. Hai preso l’ombrello? Io ho preso il mio.
