Course Description

 

 

Level 6 Classes: This course is suitable for people who have recently completed an AS Level or Level 5 and wish to consolidate their skills and increase their confidence. The course may also be suitable for those who obtained an A-level in the past but have not practised the language for a while. 

 

Term duration 10 x weekly 2-hour classes, Wednesday evenings, 6:15pm to 8:15pm

 

Key Language

The Subjuntive: expansion of the forms and uses of present subjunctive
e.g.  Cuando quieras, podemos ir a visitar la casa  -  Puede ser que venga mañana

Verbal periphrases
e.g.  Llevo dos años trabajando aquí - He vuelto a leer la carta

Los pronombres personales de objeto direct
e.g. La vi esta semana - Los necesitaré mañana

Making assessments and giving opinion with infinitive and subjunctive
e.g. Es imposible que ella venga  -  No creo que gane las elecciones  -  es una tontería bajar por aquí

Making sentences with PONERSE (to get, to become) + adjective and DAR (give) + noun
e.g. El camino se puso peligroso - Nos daba pereza volver

More idiomatic and common expressions
e.g. Cada dos por tres  -  Es el colmo  -  ¡Claro!  -  Todo le resbala
