Level 3 Classes: This language course is suitable for those who have had 40 to 50 hours of teaching, have completed German Level 2 or have achieved GCSE level but not practised the language in a while. It will reinforce what you have already learnt and further extend your grammar, vocabulary and fluency. This course equates to the A2/B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages (CEFR).
Term duration 10 x weekly 2-hour classes, Tuesday evenings, 6:15pm to 8:15pm

Discussing (the importance of) leisure and sporting activities e.g. Ich treibe Sport, um fit zu bleiben und mich zu entspannen.
Talking about birthdays and who gets what, expressing wishes e.g. Ich würde gern einen schnelleren Computer bekommen.
Discussing health and illness, arranging visit to doctor, understanding symptoms and advice e.g. Ich habe Halsschmerzen. Ich hätte gern einen Arzttermin.
Comprehending everyday situations as a tourist e.g. lost and found office e.g. Ich habe einen großen, bunten Regenschirm verloren.
Discussing current political and social issues in German e.g. Immigration, Fachkräftemangel, Ausbildung.
Grammar
Consolidating complex sentence structure, sentence connectors, Dative/Accusative, modal verbs; acquiring comparison of adjectives, personal pronouns in Nominative/Dative/Accusative, verbs with Dative/Accusative, adjectival declension.
All four skills (listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing) are practiced.
