UEA Choir and Symphony Orchestra warmly invite you to join them for their autumn concert, ‘Tempest and Transcendence’, on Thursday 19 November at 7:30pm at The Halls (St Andrew’s), Norwich.

Bringing together more than 200 performers — students, staff, and members of the local community — the choir and orchestra, under the direction of Director of Music Bjorn Bantock, will present a programme of orchestral and choral masterpieces by Mendelssohn, Weber, Berlioz, Brahms and Dvořák.

Mendelssohn's The Hebrides (Fingal's Cave) Overture opens the concert with a vivid evocation of Scotland's dramatic coastline, followed by Weber's sparkling Clarinet Concerto No. 2, featuring UEA Music Centre Award holder Grace Patrick (Clarinet).

Brahms' Nänie provides a moving moment of reflection, while Dvořák's magnificent Te Deum brings the evening to a triumphant close. Featuring acclaimed soloists Alice Platten (Soprano) and Dhilan Gnanadurai (Baritone), this powerful finale will combine soaring melodies, vibrant rhythms and stirring choral writing for an uplifting conclusion.

• Doors open at 6:45pm and close at 7:30pm
• The concert lasts approximately 2 hours, including a 20-minute interval
• Seating is unreserved.
• Please take your seat at least 10 minutes before the advertised start time
• Latecomers will only be admitted during a suitable break in the performance
• Physical tickets are no longer issued; your confirmation email serves as your ticket
