DescriptionJoin scholars from around the world to discuss alliteration in poetry and cultural history. This is the first major event focused on alliteration since The Folklore Society's conference 'Alliteration in Culture' in 2007. Featuring a full day of papers on a range of topics, periods and languages, New Perspectives will suggest the roots and ramifications of alliteration in (and beyond) English-language literary history. This event is generously supported by The British Academy and the University of East Anglia. This is a hybrid conference. When registering, please indicate whether you will be attending virtually or at UEA. Refreshments and lunch will be provided for those at UEA. Confirmed Plenary Speakers: Professor Joseph Phelan (DMU), Professor Chris Jones (Utah). Full programme to be announced. https://www.uea.ac.uk/groups-and-centres/eighteenth-and-nineteenth-century-research-group/conference
