Level 2 Classes: This course is suitable for people who have already had 20-30 hours of Spanish tuition, and would like to use the language for holiday and/or work-related purposes. By the end of this module you will be able to understand commonly used, everyday phrases and expressions related to areas of experience relevant to themselves (basic information about themselves, and their families, shopping, places of interest, work, etc.).

10 x weekly 2-hour classes, Wednesday evenings, 6:15pm to 8:15pm

Key Language
Revision of information exchange: Greet people, ask and give personal information, details of family and friends, say where you live and where you are from, ask for a phone number and give your own, talk about marital status, express and describe possession, describe people’s appearance and character… e.g. No estoy casado, trabajo en Ipswich, y me gusta muchísimo la cocina mediterránea.
Making travel arrangements: Ask for information, make a booking / buy tickets, find out times and different means of travel, ask for availability, facilities, give dates and details e.g. ¿A qué hora sale el próximo autobús para York? / Dos billetes en clase preferente, por favor.
Intercultural aspects: There will be further opportunities to explore aspects of the cultures where Spanish is the mother tongue in more depth. e.g. El español es la lengua oficial de 20 países en todo el mundo y más de 570 millones de personas hablan esta lengua.
Language skills: Read extensive texts and understand the gist, write texts in Spanish, listen to conversations based on different factual situations, start using grammatical structures in in the past, and simple sentences using future tenses. e.g. El viaje a Islandia fue increíble. El próximo año visitaré Noruega con mis padres.
Translation: Translate from and into Spanish simple texts which include grammar and vocabulary relevant to this level. e.g. Paul is working as a teacher in Norwich… // Paul está trabajando como profesor en Norwich…
