Level 4 Classes: This course suits people who have a level which means they can, for example, communicate simply about themselves and a few past experiences/future plans. In this class, you will develop your confidence to be able to talk about yourself in a more detailed way, and tackle concrete situations such as going to the doctor’s or making social plans, weighing out options. This level covers the second half of the A2 level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)*.
Term duration 10 x weekly 2-hour classes, Thursday evenings, 6:15pm - 8:15pm.

Communicative themes may cover:
Making social plans, navigating a city andcomparing options.
·Being able to talk about where one hurts/hold a simple conversation at the doctor’s
·Talking or writing about relationships,
·Describing/asking questions about one’s work, careers and studies
·Talking or writing about what you recently did.
·Understanding/communicating about simple local news/information.
Key grammatical points covered may include:
·Question formation. E.g. Did you eat breakfast?
·Present and past continuous. E.g. I am/was eating lunch.
·The present perfect. E.g. I have had a headache for three days.
·The simple past and most common irregulars. E.g. I took the bus.
·Simple future vs. “be going to”. E.g. I will come tomorrow, vs. I’m going to buy a train ticket.
·Basic modals E.g. You must arrive before 7.
·Comparatives E.g. This bus is slower than that one.
·Adjectives and preposition combinations. E.g. To be good at something, to, to be nervous about something…
