Description

Date: Sunday 12th October 2025

Time: 2-4pm

Location: Meet at gallery reception

Price: £6

In 2013, artists Ackroyd & Harvey showed 100 Oak tree saplings at the Sainsbury Centre, grown from acorns collected from Joseph Beuys’ 7000 Oaks in Kassel, Germany. In the twelve years since their original presentation in Norwich, the saplings have toured the world facilitating conversations about art and activism, plant science, ecology and economics, philosophy and politics.

Join us for a special event with the artists, marking the return of seven Oak trees to the Sculpture Park. The artists will be in conversation with Bridget McKenzie, a researcher, trainer and artist working to engage people with the Earth crisis, and Asher Minns, Executive Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the UEA. Together, they will situate the living sculpture in the context of broader themes of art, activism, our relationship to nature and the climate crisis.
