DescriptionThis two day training course is led by Beth Howgate and Keyan Salarkia. This workshop will introduce students to the core approaches and tools used by NGOs and Civil Society Organisations to influence decision makers and change policy both in the UK and internationally. We will discuss and test different strategies and tactics, as well as some of the major trends affecting policy, advocacy and campaigning work globally – as well as different career pathways within the sector. The programme will work towards the following key outcomes: 1. Participants will build foundational knowledge in how to influence policy makers in the UK and globally. 2. Participants will gain an understanding of possible career pathways, and confidence in pursuing professional opportunities in policy, advocacy and campaigning. The workshop will blend interactive plenary discussion and team exercises to create an informative, practical and fun workshop.

Cost A small fee of £10 per day, per course helps cover materials, equipment, and external trainers. This also ensures that places go to genuinely committed students. This is a fraction of the cost of what these courses would cost normally. Limited Places & Waiting List Spaces are capped to keep workshops interactive and effective.
