Supporting Learners for Support Staff

Info

Course Information

Support staff in conversation

Practice learning is a significant part of a health care student training with the majority of students
spending 50% of their pre-registration studies in clinical practice learning the key knowledge, skills
an professional attributes required to qualify as a professional registrant.

Although students are allocated trained registered staff to support their assessment of learning, a
signification part of how student learn application of learning in clinical practice is undertaken by a
range of support staff. This input of these members of staff to learning is often undervalued.

This study day is designed to help those support staff develop their skills further in relation to supporting learners and also will discuss how support staff can develop their career pathways. Action
Learning sets will be utilised to discuss various learning scenarios.
