Independent Prescribing Professional Development Day

New and experienced practitioners can find it challenging to maintain their confidence and competence to prescribe, even within their own specialisms.  This professional development day has been designed for both current and aspiring prescribers to support you with your CPD.     

We are all aware of the distress that an unplanned admission, to hospital or a care home, can be for individuals and their families.  Those who experience health, social and/or economic inequalities have an increased risk of preventable admissions, which can be expensive for the health and care system. 

When looking at the NHS Long Term Plan we know a person-centred approach, with integrated care and support can successfully improve people’s health and wellbeing and reduce the need for unplanned hospital admissions and long-term residential care.  This informs the overarching theme for this CPD day “keeping well at home”.   

Course Description

• Long Term Conditions and Digital Health Technologies  
• Deprescribing and Social Prescribing.
