An Online Course

9am - 4.15pm

During pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period women and birthing people from marginalised groups encounter systems and services which are often not inclusive, and evidence shows this negatively impacts outcomes, experiences, and mental health.

The aim of this CPD day is to equip participants with an awareness around some of the key concerns arising when people from marginalised groups navigate the perinatal space, including psychological challenges, issues of gender, sexuality, race and culture, and the impact on perinatal mental health.

The day is designed for healthcare professionals working with women, birthing people and families, with an interest in perinatal mental health. Participants may be from a range of backgrounds, for example health visitors, midwives, GPs, nurses and mental health practitioners. This online day takes a blended approach with a focus on collegial learning and reflection, using a mix of individual and group activity across a range of learning materials.
