Identifying supervision for Clinical Educators and Assessors to help manage placement challenges and reduce learner attrition.
This course has been funded by the Norfolk & Waveney ICS and places are only available to those working for organisations based in Norfolk and Waveney.
Clinical educators (CE) not only teach and guide learners on placement but also advise, facilitate, and mentor those staff who are supervising and assessing the learners. This pivotal role is shown to enhance the learner experience and that of all involved within the clinical learning environment. However, learners experiencing an unsupportive and disorganised placement may well consider leaving the training programme. Therefore in order to reduce the possibility of attrition of students and to influence retention, CE must be aware of resources and support available to help them influence learner and staff experiences that effectively minimise the potential for student's to withdraw from their studies.
