Japanese Level 7

Course Description

Level 7 Classes: This course is a continuation of Level 6 and is designed for students who have completed around 120 hours of study and wish to consolidate their understanding of grammar whilst focusing on speaking about topics relevant to daily life. All four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) are practiced with a greater emphasis on conversational skills. By the end of the course, you will be able to formulate key phrases to describe varied and complex situations and to express your opinions and intentions in a way that is appropriate in the context of Japanese culture and society. 

Term duration -  9 x weekly classes, Tuesday evenings, 6:15pm - 8:30pm (your last class will finish at 8:15pm). 

Please note, there is no class on Tue 18 February. 

Key Language (Subject to change) 

✓　 Describing a change of state 「～く／に　なります」 

e.g. セーターが　安(やす)く　なりました。 

✓ “When” 「verb [plain form] とき」 

e.g. てんぷらを　食(た)べる　とき、　はしを　つかいます。 

✓ Forming modifying clauses 

e.g. これは　鎌倉(かまくら)で　とった　しゃしんです。 

✓ “Visible/audible” 「見(み)える／聞(き)こえる」 

e.g. しんかんせんの　まどから　富士山(ふじさん)が　見えます。 

✓ Expressing frequency 

e.g. 月(つき)に　2回(かい)　生(い)け花(ばな)を　ならっています。 

✓　 Expressing a strong suggestion 「〜ほうが　いいです」 

e.g. くすりを　飲(の)んだ　ほうが　いいですよ。
